We have an exciting opportunity for a Biomedical Scientist to join our cellular pathology team.

You will have HCPC registration and experience in cellular pathology, especially IHC/FISH techniques.

You will undertake training in the cellular pathology department and will become competent in all permissible parts of the role as expected of BMS including:

  • Histopathological processes
  • Digital Pathology
  • Special stains
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • FISH
  • Dissection
  • Validation and Verification
  • EQA and IQA schemes
  • Training and development

You will be set a training plan and objectives will be set that are aligned to the business objectives.

In addition to technical skills, you will also be jointly responsible with current postholders for coordinating and planning departmental training, and achievements against our quality objectives.

We actively support career development utilising a combination of IBMS approved training and in-house training and competencies.  Staff with the knowledge and ability may be able to participate in A-E dissection and/or BMS reporting as defined by personal and business objectives.

You must be self-motivated, focussed, realistic, willing to learn, a team player, good communicator, and show excellent standards of behaviour and exhibit leadership qualities.
