Overview:
We’re looking for an Online Programmer to join Silent Games, a Double A game development studio based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne with a focus on RPG games that give players a sense of autonomy, mastery and purpose. As an Online Programmer you'll be one of a small team of Programmers, working on the online backend infrastructure for our Asynchronous Multiplayer Features and other online systems. You'll have an opportunity to build on existing systems in the way you feel is most effective and have autonomy and control over the online backend architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Develop online backend infrastructure for our Asynchronous Multiplayer features and other online systems
• Writing clear, professional, and maintainable code 
• Proactively problem-solve performance and stability issues where necessary

Requirements

• Database Programming / SQL Skills
• Knowledge of RESTful web services
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with Perforce & Jenkins
• Have shipped at least one game title (preferably more, this is a mid-level role)
   

 Desirables

• Knowledge of information security
• Knowledge of Amazon EC2
• Message queuing
• CI/CD pipeline experience
• Desire to work on RPG games with asynchronous multiplayer
• Experience with Anti-Cheat systems/infrastructures
• Knowledge of Python
• Experience integrating online systems with Next Gen console requirements
