Job Description

As an embedded software engineer, you will join the team in West Sussex to support our activities within the Defence sector.

You will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge embedded software solutions for a bespoke system used on military land vehicles. Your work will directly impact the effectiveness of critical communication and visual systems used by defence and government agencies. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our products.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Embedded Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for defence surveillance and targeting systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and security protocols.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with hardware components, ensuring seamless operation and reliability.
  • Performance Optimisation: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and other software-related issues to enhance system efficiency.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and validation of embedded software to meet stringent quality and reliability standards.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, code comments, and user manuals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and project managers, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all software development activities comply with industry regulations, security guidelines, and customer requirements
