The Role:

The Data Protection Manager will sit in the second line, and will report to the Chief Compliance Officer. As a subject matter expert, this role is part of a team who are working to understand, manage and mitigate privacy risks across Amplifi Capital. They should ensure that the organisation has proper risk-based systems of control over the personal data that it processes and deal promptly and professionally with requests for information.

This role is identified as falling under a category of staff whose professional activities are deemed to have a material impact on Amplifi’s risk profile. You will be required to be certified by the business in line with the FCA’s ‘Fit and Proper’ test for employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice on first line policies across Amplifi to ensure compliance with all data protection legislation.
  • Be the first point of contact for individuals whose data is processed (employees, customers etc.), working with each to address and resolve data protection related complaints and queries.
  • Advising and completing DPIA’s, when required, in a commercial, compliant and timely manner
  • Incident Management & Reporting both internally and to the ICO where applicable
  • Maintenance and updating of the business’ RoPA.
  • Dealing with all DSAR requests, maintenance of the DSAR log and notifying the relevant stakeholders of emerging risk.
  • Supporting the DPO in their responsibilities and tasks.
  • Supporting risk reporting and incident management at Amplifi including implementation of control frameworks and testing
  • Collaborate with various internal departments, including the financial support team, customer services, commercial, product development and operations, to support Amplifi’s compliance agenda. 

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (3 years +) in a data protection role..
  • Review and update data protection policies and procedures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Responding to individuals’ rights requests.
  • Good analytical and investigative skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the current data protection, security landscape including cyber.
  • Experience using OneTrust.
