About Bluefin

  • We’re building cutting-edge, decentralized exchange infrastructure in our vision to advance derivatives trading, the largest market by trading volume
  • We’ve settled over $10 Billion in derivatives since January 1, 2024, and are backed by Susquehanna, Brevan Howard, Tower Research, Cumberland DRW, Polychain and other leading investors

Our Culture

We are a team of doers that trust each other and value kindness. Our shared passion for learning and relentless drive to make everything better bring us together. We love what we do and are constantly trying new things with a bias to action and healthy debate.

What you will do

  • Work closely with leadership to understand the organization's goals and set technical direction
  • Solve challenging distributed systems problems around scalability, reliability, high availability for the core trading API, web sockets, datastore services, and new initiatives
  • Continually iterate on the security measures taken to ensure the resiliency of the protocol through threat modeling brainstorms and internal security reviews
  • Lead the effort on exploring ambiguous and novel solutions to complex problems that are inherent to the company’s success
  • Review and be the primary author of documentation for the undertakings, services, and code that you produce
  • Be a steward of the engineering culture at Bluefin by coaching and mentoring engineers, participating in code & architectural reviews, and spearheading initiatives for higher developer productivity and team efficiency

Requirements

What you will bring

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience and recent experience with at least one modern language such as TypeScript, Go, or Rust
  • 2+ years of experience being a technical lead and/or mentoring others
  • You have architected and implemented distributed, low-latency, high-volume services and know how to deploy and monitor them in production
  • Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
  • Expertise in SQL queries, database performance tuning, and scalable schema design
  • Hands-on experience with data-processing systems (e.g., Lambda architecture, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ELK)
  • Storage solutions (Cassandra, Postgres, Redis, Zookeeper)
  • VMs and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
