About the role: 

Okay, we’ve waffled long enough. So let’s get to the good bit: You. 

As the Accounts Receivable Assistant, your role sits within the Financial Control team.

Reporting to the Tax and Treasury Manager, the Accounts Receivable Assistant will be responsible for running the day to day accounts receivable processes, with significant exposure to and involvement in other core components of the finance function. 

Location: Hybrid working; a mix of working from our London or Bristol office & working remotely 

Employment type: Fixed term for 12 months (please note, you must have the right to work in the UK)

Requirements

What you’ll be doing at Elvie:

  • Management of the accounts receivable subledger
  • Chase customer debt
  • Verify and post customer payments and credit memos related to accounts receivable
  • Create reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested
  • Working with the financial control cash accountant where relevant to manage the invoice finance facility
  • Manage credit insurance cover for all customers, including applying for new limits and reviewing customers whose limit has been exceeded.
  • Review shortage claims from retailers and posting credit memos accordingly
  • Lead the cross functional initiative to reduce shortage claims and maximise amounts reclaimed
  • Acting as point of contact for any customer queries
  • Participate in the year end audit 
  • Assisting in process improvements
  • Respond to other AR related tasks that may arise

What we are looking for:

Pre-requisites:

  • Ideally at least 1 year experience in Accounts Receivable role
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of Netsuite or a similar ERP system
  • Love the idea of working in a fast-paced environment building something from the ground up
  • Have a “can do” attitude and be proactive in seeking solutions
  • Be confident in data handling & analysis in a non-interfaced system environment
  • Have intermediate or advanced Excel skills and an interest in improving on these
  • Have a proven track record of high integrity and a bias for action
  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Have a high attention to detail

Desirable experience:

  • Multi-currency banking platforms (HSBC.net highly desirable)
  • International trade
  • Retail or ecommerce
  • Invoice & trade financing

  • For some positions, there may be an additional interview with one of our senior leadership team
