About the Role:

We are looking for a Technical Sales Manager to lead day-to-day sales operations with the technical sales team. The ideal candidate with possess a deep understanding of the entire sales process, excel at lead conversion and relationship building and be technically minded to support the entire sales team. We are looking for someone with vast sales experience to inspire strong performance in others through coaching and mentorship - with a goal of maintaining and building a high-performance team to align with Eriez' strategic vision, mission and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the technical sales team including skill development and product knowledge, developing a strategic plan, setting individual and team targets etc. Continuously monitoring the team's success and implementing steps to ensure they are excelling
  • Infrequent planned travel to support the technical sales team within the UK, Europe and other international subsidiaries (20-30% of time)
  • Develop and implement strategies throughout the team to achieve high level objectives and initiatives aligned with those set by the Sales Director
  • Attend domestic, European and international exhibitions to promote Eriez equipment as required
  • Work interdepartmentally and globally within the Eriez group to increase overall profitability through process and product improvements
  • Monitor the weekly performance of the sales team by establishing a system of data and communications metrics, including sales reporting (utilising CRM) and team meetings
  • Provide a high standard of ongoing training for the team in order to enhance their technical knowledge and continue their professional development
  • Develop a detailed understanding of Eriez' products and services to provide comprehensive support to the wider team

Requirements

  • Several years experience in sales management, with a technical/solutions based emphasis
  • Track record in managing and growing a highly skilled, motivated and successful sales team
  • Willingness to travel overseas as and when required, sometimes at short notice
  • An established leader, with exceptional communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong computer literacy - experience using Microsoft applications, CRM systems (we use Sage)
  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Degree or Diploma in Business or Engineering (or other related disciplines) would be advantageous, but is not required
  • The ability to speak another language (i.e. Italian, Spanish, French) would be advantageous, but is not required
