Infopro Digital group is recruiting for a Research Manager on a permanent basis to join it’s AMA brand. AMA Research is a leading specialist provider of market research and insight to the UK building and construction industry.

AMA Research publishes over 150 off-the-shelf market reports and forecast bulletins and provides research which goes beyond the more commonly available range of statistical and company information, delivering expert, informed commentary and in-depth market analysis. AMA Research also offers consultancy services including market research projects and consumer and business surveys. Barbour ABI publish the UK Government’s National Infrastructure & Construction Pipeline and provide the Office for National Statistics with critical data to produce its Construction New Orders estimates.

We are looking for a Research Manager to join our AMA Research Content team.

The AMA team works remotely, but you would be required to be able to attend our head office at Cheshire Oaks (near Chester) once a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will have responsibility for a set of market reports, this focus enables development of expertise and specialism.
  • You will be required to build your own profile within the subject area through attending conferences and exhibitions, and through social media.
  • You will use established in house methods and tools to enable swift analysis of data and development of market commentary and forecasting.
  • You will be required to draw out market stats and perspectives.
  • You will be conducting desk research, data analysis and qualitative interviews. You will use primary and secondary sources to build a view of the market.
  • For each market report you will be guiding a freelance researcher, whom will support you through the different stages of work.
  • You will be writing reports and where a freelancer has written a report it will be your responsibility to edit and publish their final report
  • You’ll need to be comfortable setting up and managing several projects at a time and keeping them on track.
  • As well as working in an editorial role in producing the market reports, you will be involved in creating the content for marketing materials related to the report, including web pages, press releases and video commentary, and occasionally articles for journals and blog posts.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in research looking at data and statistics, especially company data and official statistics and reporting.
  • An analytical, questioning mindset
  • Project Management skills and experience
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel such as Pivot tables and Graphs
  • Strong data analysis skills, especially the ability to derive insight from data
  • Expertise in research techniques both quantitative and qualitative
  • Experience of managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Experience of managing freelance researchers and ensuring they meet deliverables
  • First-class report writing experience and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in trends analysis and market forecasting
  • Expertise in social media is desirable
  • Experience of the built environment is highly desirable
  • As all our work is on markets associated with the built environment, you’ll need to have an interest and ideally experience in this space – the products, companies, activities and techniques; ideally accompanied by interest in sustainability, new technologies, supply chains, manufacturing processes, the economy and consumer.
