Our Head Office Property Department is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and analytical person to join the Cost & Invest Team of the Property Organisation/Portfolio department on a 12-month temporary assignment.
At an exciting time of growth for Lidl GB, our Head Office colleagues are supporting regional teams to expand and optimise our portfolio. What you'll do
- Supporting the team in comprehensive property cost planning
- Supporting the team in Multi-Year Investment Planning
- Monitoring property related costs and investment and reporting any deviations from plan
- Store construction project reconciliation i.e. comparison of Actual vs. Plan expenditure and reconciliation of Property System with Accounting system
- Data plausibility checks (investigating quality & accuracy) and pursuing queries with Lidl International and Regional Property Offices
- Running & reviewing profitability & return on investment calculations
- Supporting the team in preparing property-specific data analyses and presentations for the UK & International Boards
- Providing quality assurance and training for our in-house property systems
- Providing support to Regional Property Offices on property systems and procedures
- Liaising with Lidl International, Regional Property Offices and other Lidl departments/peers
- Understanding the company's 'bigger picture' and the property role within the organisation as a whole
What you'll need
- Accounting/Management Accounting/Finance background essential
- Excellent communication skills at all levels of the business
- Confident in supporting executive management
- Passion for working with numbers
- Excellent attention to detail
- A self-motivated and proactive individual with a can-do attitude and the ability to work on projects and solve problems independently.
- Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team, to tight deadlines and to deliver accurate results
- Good Excel skills (incl. advanced formulae, pivot tables etc.)
- Previous retail/property experience beneficial but not essential
- German beneficial but not essential
