We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join a family-run SME who operate in the building consumables industry. This is a National role, responsible for promoting and selling a range of construction materials and supplies to contractors, builders, architects, and other professionals in the construction industry.

This role will be roughly 4 days per week out on the road for meetings, Nationally and 1 day per week in the office in Essex.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to identify and target potential customers in the construction industry
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing personalized solutions.
• Identify new business opportunities and actively prospect for new customers through cold calling, networking, and referrals.
• Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of our building consumables.
• Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking functions

Requirements

• Previous experience in a field based sales role, preferably in the building materials or construction industry
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
• Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities, with a focus on delivering value to customers.
• Knowledge of building materials and construction processes is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed

Hours - Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (with a degree of flexibility)

Benefits

• Basic salary £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
• OTE £60,000 - £65,000 (uncapped)
