A group with a diverse offering across the multidisciplinary consultancy environment are seeking to expand their Building Surveying Team to build on their ongoing success.

They seek an ambitious Building Surveyor with a proven track record within a consultancy background who is looking to progress their career, working in a close-knit team. Covering a number of sectors including public buildings and estates, residential and housing, education, healthcare, commercial and insurance work.

The role will involve the delivery of building surveying services with bias to project work • Supervising, managing and mentoring junior members of the team • Customer care and client management • Managing refurbishment projects for key clients, including contract administration/practice duties • Providing advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of all types of public and private sector buildings/sites to conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards • Providing advice in connection with planning applications, appeals, boundary disputes, government grants, etc • Carrying out building surveys, including condition surveys and PPM schedules, including analysing and reporting on building defects • Taking particulars on site, writing up specifications, obtaining estimates, planning maintenance programmes and administering contracts for maintenance work • Handling insurance claims and negotiations with loss adjusters, leading to the preparation of drawings and specifications for remedial work • Preparing schedules of dilapidations • Experience of undertaking the role of party wall surveyor • Monitoring progress and quality of building work on site.

For your part you will be degree qualified and RICS qualified with a background in a consultancy environment - preferably with commercial sector project experience.  A commercial champion with an enthusiasm for in time winning work and business development • Capable of mentoring individual team members, organising their work where necessary and providing mentoring and guidance on projects. Additionally excellent all-round technical building surveying knowledge  with an analytical mind with a high level of intellect - combining excellent written and oral skills to produce considered and robust reports and recommendations.
