Job Title: Contract Planner (HV Grid Specialist) - Outside IR35

Company Overview: We are a leading contractor specializing in high-voltage (HV) grid projects across the energy sector. We are seeking a skilled Contract Planner with HV grid experience to join our team.

Job Summary: As a Contract Planner with HV grid expertise, you will play a key role in our project management team, focusing on planning and scheduling for HV grid projects in collaboration with our client, SSEN. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in high-voltage infrastructure projects and proficiency in Primavera P6 software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 software, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather project scope, objectives, and constraints for effective schedule development.
  • Conduct schedule analysis, identify critical paths, and propose strategies to optimize project timelines and resource utilization.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against established schedules, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for project stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and issues affecting project schedules.
  • Work collaboratively with the project team to ensure schedule integration with cost control, risk management, and procurement activities.
  • Support project planning activities from initiation through to completion, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 6 years) in project planning and scheduling, particularly within high-voltage grid projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 software for schedule development and management.
  • In-depth knowledge of HV grid infrastructure, including substations, transmission lines, and related equipment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project data and make informed scheduling decisions.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to HV grid projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working on projects for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) or similar utility companies.
  • Familiarity with other project management tools and software applications.
