My client is a reputable family business based in Barnsley, specializing in a wide range of construction services including drylining, plastering, fit-out, steel frame systems, suspended ceilings, acoustic wall panels, and partition walls. Role Overview: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager/Director, you will play a key role in overseeing the commercial aspects of our projects. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for managing budgets, contracts, and procurement processes, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commercial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost control, and procurement.
  • Prepare and review contracts, subcontract agreements, and variations.
  • Monitor project costs and expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities where possible.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
  • Provide expert advice on fire protection, partition walls, and drylining.
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure commercial objectives are met and project delivery is optimized.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
  • Oversee compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to promote repeat business and referrals.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, or Commercial Director in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of drylining, fire protection and partition walls.
  • Experience with fire protection, partition walls, and drylining is essential.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Immediate availability for an immediate start.
