Nursery Deputy Manager (maternity cover)

As the Nursery Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor. Your responsibilities include understanding and meeting the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS, as well as ensuring compliance with various regulatory bodies and nursery standards and policy. You will support the Manager in smooth day to day running of the nursery and help and encourage the team to develop their skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities:
- You will lead by example, fostering positive relations, and supporting staff through recruitment, induction, and ongoing professional development
- As a key member of the team, you will lead the embedding of the curriculum and promote a culture of learning and development throughout the nursery
- Your effective communication skills will promote positive partnerships with parents and carers. You will manage any concerns raised with thoroughness and in a timely fashion
- You will manage and report child safeguarding matters, conduct regular inspections, and ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery.
- Maintaining accurate records, supporting the commercial performance of the nursery, participating in marketing activities, and attending senior team meetings are integral aspects of this role
- Have a relevant and recognised childcare qualification level 3 or ideally higher
- Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Experience of management in a nursery setting
- Experience of implementing the EYFS
- DBS cleared
