Position Overview: As a Freelance Electrical Clerk of Works, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of electrical systems within our higher education projects. Your expertise and attention to detail will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with electrical design specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Collaborating closely with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to address any electrical-related issues or concerns promptly.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to ensure the effective installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Documenting and reporting on the progress of electrical works, identifying any deviations from the approved plans and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Participating in project meetings and site visits to monitor progress, resolve technical queries, and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgetary constraints.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Clerk of Works or similar role, preferably within the construction industry, with a focus on higher education projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, building codes, and regulations relevant to the construction sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for documentation and reporting purposes.
  • Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering or a related field are desirable.
