BASED TYNE AND WEAR

ROLE

Purpose:

To ensure full compliance to the BRC standard, all retailer manufacturing standards, codes of practice and current industry legislation. To ensure that both the Factory & Technical functions are kept up to date on all food safety & legislative changes. The Technical Team consists of QA Manager , Technical Coordinator, Technical Services Manager, 2x Admin, and 8x Shift QA’s.

Key Responsibilities: 

•    Ensuring the site Quality systems, legality and governance are adhered to.

•    Maintaining & reporting on technical due diligence and business technical integrity

•    Site leading manager for ensuring that the company meets BRC and customers COP requirements (codes of Practice)

•    To support in ensuring all products are manufactured to the sites agreed specifications alongside driving hygiene standards within the business.

•    Ensuring that the Technical Team are aware of updates and changes made to Customer Codes of Practises and implement areas of change within the business.

•    Ensure that the HACCP system is maintained and fully implemented. The process flow and systems aligned to HACCP are trained to the teams effectively.

•    To ensure defined Microbiological standards in alignment with Customer Codes of Practice are in place to ensure product food safety and due diligence. 

•    To ensure Group Technical Policies and Procedures are implemented and adhered to.

•    To review and approve all technical documentation before implanting.

•    To co-ordinate and ensure resource and personnel for all Customer and third party audits.

•    To ensure all Technical and Quality audits are reviewed, updated and maintained.

•    Site Technical lead for all site related customer technical contact, ensuring customer technical representatives are provided with all required information

•    To ensure all personnel pursue safe working practises, both within Food Safety and Health & Safety.

CANDIDATE 

•    Specifically experience with Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda or M&S would be an advantage. 
•    Good at managing customers day to day, and during audits and visits. 
•    Excellent leadership and communication skills with relevant experience in a leadership role. 
•    Strong knowledge of BRC food safety and industry wide standards is also key. 
•    Strong understanding of HACCP and the practical implementation of this in the factory. . 
•    Ideally Degree educated in food science/food related area or equivalent.
