To complete daily delivery and collections of hire equipment and sale products to customers.

Working alongside the operations team to ensure all orders are loaded as instructed by the daily schedules issued.

Maintain a high standard of driving and ensure the company assets are checked daily and defects are reported per company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving Duties

  • Responsible for ensuring vehicles are loaded referencing the daily driver schedule to ensure all hire and sale orders are transferred from the operations goods out bays to the vehicle.
  • Complete checks before departure of the depot to ensure all goods are present.
  • Daily trips must commence at the time the logistics coordinator requests to ensure agreed delivery and collection times are adhered to as confirmed with the customer.
  • All paperwork must be completed on delivery and collection. All equipment unable to collect as instructed must be noted on all paperwork. Report all issues with hand held devices immediately.
  • Report any non-deliveries/collections or delays to the logistics coordinator immediately.
  • Accountable for the standard of the delivery vehicle reference appearance inside and out.

Driver Safety

  • Adhere to road traffic rules and speed limits at all times.
  • Work to the loading and unloading matrix when loading and unloading the vehicle to ensure loads are safely secure and safely offloaded.
  • Responsible for completing daily checks and reporting all defects to management.
  • Responsible for completing weekly defect book and returning to management within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure vehicles do not exceed the safe working load limit.
  • Attend driver safety training as and when requested.

Health and Safety

  • Complete tasks in accordance with depot risk assessments, and notify the Depot Supervisor of any potential noncompliance. Report accidents and near misses using the correct methods.
  • Attend customer depots and sites in a professional manner and adhere to each site's specific rules and guidance including PPE requirements.
  • Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping, ensure areas are free from waste and trip hazards etc

 Quality

  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by providing suggestions and feedback to Team Leaders and Management.
  • Work to agreed timescales updating the Team Leader on progress. Maintain good communication with Team Leaders and Management at all times.
  • All orders are to be wrapped, banded and packaged as per the delivery method.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence and good knowledge of the UK road network
  • Ability and knowledge of securing various load types
  • Awareness of customer service requirements

Desirable

  • Driver CPC (7.5t)
  • HGV license
