Polishing Technician – Optical Sensors – Oxfordshire – IM3358
Salary: c£30-35k depend on experience, plus benefits
Job Term: Permanent, Full Time, Onsite
A specialist in cutting edge optical sensors, is now seeking an additional Polishing Technician to join their Oxfordshire based facility.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor you will work with limited supervision, performing both repetitive and complex mechanical fabrication processes.
Processes will include precision lapping and polishing and operating the high temperature bonding equipment.
To succeed in this role, you should have good hand eye coordination, good manual dexterity and an aptitude for meticulous precision work.
Further you should be able to use inspection cameras, microscopes and various metrology equipment to qualify product conformance to drawing specifications.
On a daily basis you will be lapping and polishing small pieces to fine tolerances and finishes, and inspecting the finished work to qualify product conformance.
Experience and Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant precision mechanical fabrication is required to succeed in this role.
You must have good mechanical and mathematical skills and possess the ability to read mechanical drawings and follow defined processes.
Any knowledge about production control software would be beneficial but not essential.
Experience within a cleanroom environment would also be advantageous.
