Junior Vessel Operator

My client, based in Eastleigh, is a specialist in the worldwide transportation of Yachts & Super yachts, Commercial Cargo as well as Freight Forwarding and Courier Services. They are looking for a junior vessel operator to join their fast-paced and dynamic team. You would be playing a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of maritime logistics.

This role would suit a recent graduate looking to develop their career within the maritime and vessel industry. This role would give you the opportunity to join a forward thinking company, with opportunities to develop your career.

Responsibilities

• Assist vessel operators in coordinating vessel schedules, including arrival, departure, and port activities.
• Monitor vessel movements and maintain accurate records of data e.g. vessel positions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, port authorities, and stakeholders, ensuring the smooth running of operations.
• Ensuring vessels meet all compliances with safety regulations and procedures.
• Provide updates to clients regarding vessel schedules, delays, and any relevant operational issues.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in vessel operations management.

Requirements

• Background in maritime industry would be beneficial.
• Strong IT skills.
• Great customer service and communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Self-motivated, with a can do attitude

Company Remuneration

• Salary - £30,000
• Hybrid working scheme after training is complete
• Monday - Friday 9am-5pm, flexibility is sometimes required
