Design Verification Plan Engineer

(DVP Engineer Contract role for 8 months)

Based Coventry                                                                                                

Excellent Hourly Rate

Our client is a tier 1 automotive supplier and manufacturer of technical products to prestigious OEMs.  A contract role now exists for a DVP Engineer based in Coventry initially for 8 months contract period deemed inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the wire harness Design Verification Plan aligned to project timing using the customer RMDV tool
  • Liaise with the wider EDS team to ensure that the designs conform to all customer and internal requirements / specifications
  • Support the wider engineering team in DFMEA creation and maintenance
  • Create and maintain regular DV Reports and glide paths to report out project status
  • Ensure all test reports are fully uploaded to RMDV
  • Validate and update as required the project DV Plans as cascaded from customer in RMDV
  • Schedule all Requirement Test Cases in RMDV in alignment with project timing and project build events
  • Support Virtual and Physical Fresh Eyes / Inch by Inch / PDP-181 reviews
  • Support the wider engineering team in creating and progressing SDS Exceptions and achieving signoff
  • Maintain a register of all SDS Exceptions

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience in lieu of education
  • Demonstrates a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory and practice ideally gained within the Automotive sector
  • Test failure analysis and solution validation to complete successful product development
  • Product validation experience (Shock/Drop, Cycle Testing, Environmental Testing)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of tooling and materials process validation
  • Strong 3D CAD knowledge
  • Analytic problem solving skills including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE or similar disciplines
  • Schedule and milestone management
  • Provide cross-functional program integration support to ensure team success
  • Effective team player displaying a positive team spirit, ‘can do’ attitude and right-first-time mentality
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
