The Project
As an experienced Temporary Works Engineer, you will provide expert technical support where required on various refurbishment projects within Yorkshire. Projects will range across a number of core sectors such as residential, commercial, leisure and care with build values varying from £5m - £10m+. You will liaise with other departments across the business to provide; input, guidance and advice on engineering solutions.
Requirements
For this role it is desired that you carry the following professional qualifications;
- Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards
It is essential that you hold the experience below;
- A proven history of successfully designing and checking Temporary Works to a high standard
- Proven history of working on projects in a similar position with build values in excess of £5m+
- Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working with tier 1 and tier 2 leading construction contractors

The Role

Duties
- Liaise with project teams across the wider business
- Provide input, guidance and advice on engineering solutions
- Overseeing the setup, upkeep, and disassembly of temporary structures
- Create design sketches and detailed specifications for temporary structures
- Reviewing and approving design drawings completed by other team members
- Perform risk assessments, identifying potential risks, formulating strategies to mitigate them
- Liaise with various departments and teams, offering insights on engineering issues and solutions
- Inspect and authorise temporary works on site, as well as fulfilling necessary permit requirements
- Maintain thorough documentation of temporary works designs, installations, inspections, and alterations
- Guarantee adherence to applicable safety regulations and standards for all temporary works to minimize hazards to workers, the public, and the project
- Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to verify temporary structures adhere to approved designs and schedules during installation and maintenance
- Communicate with clients to comprehend their temporary works requirements and preferences, delivering expert guidance and suggestions to align with their needs
- Recognise chances for enhancing temporary works design, installation techniques, and safety protocols, then executing adjustments to boost overall efficiency
