As an Area Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of an area encompassing a portfolio of client/customer sites, typically generating up to £1.5 million in annual turnover.

​This may include overseeing approximately 12-16 schools, ensuring the delivery of high-quality catering services across all locations.

Job Description

Your role will involve direct management of Catering Managers and/or Relief Chefs, guiding them to maintain service quality, consistency, and compliance with company standards.

You will work closely with your Operations Manager to achieve profit and loss targets, contributing to the financial success of the business.

In addition to your operational responsibilities, you will play a key role in building strong relationships with both clients and staff members.

Your ability to foster positive relationships will be crucial in ensuring client satisfaction and staff engagement across the area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health and Safety compliance. Actively and positively implement and promote Health and Safety initiatives involving your team at all stages
  • Ensure compliance to all food development process and procedures
  • Ensure your area team are briefed and compliant with the Food Policies (i.e. cultural, religious, ethnic, allergies, special diets)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and develop effective two way communication with Clients, and other stakeholders providing regular feedback to your Line Manager
  • Adopt and maintain a people-focussed management approach and to ensure leadership principles and values are practiced at all times
  • Ensure you manage people considerately, taking into account the Company’s equal opportunities/diversity policies
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with Company P&C policy and procedures where applicable
  • In liaison with the Operations Manager initiate and implement new ideas that will drive improved satisfaction to our Customers, Clients, Teams and Stakeholders
  • Review performance and ensure timely action plans are developed and implemented to drive improved performance throughout your area of responsibility
