Job Purpose:

To support the technical department and Quality in the production environment. The technical manager ensures product safety/quality/legality through the continuous development of the HACCP and quality systems.

Main responsibilities:

  • To ensure technical, specification or legislative information is provided to customers in a timely manner.
  • Evaluation of products during development stage to ensure adherence to customer protocols, standards, and factory capabilities.
  • Management of customer visits, audits, and trials from a technical perspective.
  • Working with site technical team to ensure technical standards are implemented and always achieved.
  • To ensure that all relevant information regarding changes, amendments to the Quality Manuals, customer product specifications, working practises and or legislation requirements are communicated to all relevant staff.
  • To carry out Internal audits to check procedures and policies.
  • Ensure that the department’s personal hygiene, housekeeping, health & safety, and welfare levels are always maintained to a high standard.

Experience:      

  • Technical experience in meat.
  • Ability to highlight potential amongst colleagues and develop, in conjunction with personnel, to ensure succession planning is in place.
  • Experience in QA, HACCP, Food Safety and Allergen Management

Knowledge:     

  • Ability to execute and implement change as necessary to ensure continued profitability of the department. Experience in a customer facing technical role,
  • HACCP level 3 (Level4 preferred)
  • Internal auditing training
  • Third-party auditor training
