Client is a leading construction firm specializing in high-profile commercial projects across Central London. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional quality and innovative solutions in the construction industry. As we embark on a prestigious £40M fit-out project, we seek an experienced and contractually strong Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the financial management and contractual aspects of a £40M fit-out project in Central London. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling large-scale projects, possess excellent leadership qualities, and be adept at managing complex contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial and contractual management of a £40M fit-out project.
- Prepare, negotiate, and analyze costs for tenders and contracts.
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of interim valuations, final accounts, and claims.
- Conduct risk management and value engineering assessments to optimize project outcomes.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide accurate and timely reports on project progress, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Mentor and manage junior quantity surveyors and support staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a significant portion in large-scale fit-out projects.
- Strong contractual knowledge and experience with JCT and NEC contracts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning for major projects.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., CostX, MS Excel, and other QS tools).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
