Venatu are currently looking for a wood CNC machinist to work at a leading furniture manufacturing company based in Leeds 10, renowned for high-quality craftsmanship and innovative designs. 

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Wood CNC Operator to join their team on the late shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machinery to cut, shape, and prepare wooden components for our furniture production. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • CNC Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to produce wooden parts according to specified designs and measurements.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Make necessary adjustments to machinery to maintain product quality.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to determine the specifications for furniture components.
  • Tool Management: Install and align machine tools, such as cutters, drills, and milling heads. Ensure tools are sharpened and maintained for optimal performance.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery and troubleshoot issues as they arise to minimize downtime.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience as a CNC operator, preferably within the furniture manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in operating CNC machinery and understanding of CNC programming. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is an asset.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce precise and high-quality components.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with machinery.
  • Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for long periods and handling heavy materials as required.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training or certification in CNC operation or related field is preferred.
