Website Developer - Leeds - GBP £40,000 - 50,000 DOE - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

A new and exciting position has recently become live with a leading client!

They searching for a WordPress Developer (4+ years of experience) with strong technical skills in advanced WordPress features, including Custom Post Types, WordPress Loops, and Template Hierarchy.

This position involves API integration, optimising website performance for speed and SEO, and implementing robust security practices, especially for e-commerce functionalities.

You will work closely with the design and marketing team via an agile approach to work on a range of smaller projects that will contribute significantly to elevating their website functionality and user experience.

This is a hybrid role that requires you to work from the Leeds-based office 2-3 times per week and therefore you will need to live and have the full right to work in the UK!

Technical Skills:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop custom solutions using advanced WordPress features like Custom Post Types, WordPress Loops, and Template Hierarchy.
  • Create responsive, device-friendly web interfaces with Elementor Page Builder, adhering to modern UI/UX best practices for both desktop and mobile.
  • Collaborate with commercial, sales, and marketing teams to enhance website functionality, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Utilise front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery) and PHP to develop engaging user-centric web experiences.
  • Optimise WordPress and WooCommerce databases for improved site performance and scalability.
  • Maintain code integrity using Git for version control and collaborative development.
  • Design and implement e-commerce-oriented features that allow users to easily browse products, create wishlists, and submit inquiries seamlessly, enhancing user experience and engagement.
  • Track development progress and adhere to project timelines using project management tools like YouTrack and Basecamp.
  • Incorporate user feedback through tools to continuously improve UI/UX.
  • Conduct A/B testing for web design and layout optimization, analyzing results to guide further enhancements.
  • Ensure adherence to the latest security protocols to protect against potential threats.
  • Apply SEO best practices to improve the website's search engine ranking and visibility.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable expertise in WordPress development with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience, with in-depth knowledge of WordPress, Elementor, Advanced Custom Fields, and WooCommerce.
  • Experience in database optimisation for WordPress environments and knowledge of WordPress hosting on AWS.
  • Exceptional design skills, capable of creating visually appealing and functional web experiences.
  • Effective communication skills to facilitate collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Independent work ethic, with the ability to carry tasks from concept to completion while contributing actively to team discussions.
  • Adaptability to adjust designs based on analytical data and team feedback, focusing on continuous user experience improvement.
  • Proficiency with web design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch.
  • Experience with project management tools.
  • Experience with CRO tools for integrating user feedback into design decisions.
  • Commitment to integrating feedback to refine and improve design outputs.
  • Dedication to maintaining high standards of design quality, ensuring all elements contribute positively to user experience and project goals.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms or plugins, understanding user journey and wishlist functionalities, with familiarity in WooCommerce or similar plugins for inquiry-based systems.
