Water Hygiene Engineer – £27,000–£30,000 + Benefits
📍 West Midlands (Nationwide travel required)
The Opportunity
Our Client is a well-established water hygiene and compliance business delivering services across a national portfolio. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Water Hygiene Technician to join their team.
This is a mobile role offering a good mix of site-based work, autonomy, and long-term stability within a growing organisation.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out a range of water hygiene monitoring, inspection, and maintenance tasks in line with current legislation and industry standards.
This role involves regular travel and occasional stay-away work (typically up to 2 nights per week), so flexibility is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out water hygiene monitoring in line with ACoP L8 and HSG274
- Temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems
- TMV inspection, servicing, and maintenance
- Cold Water Storage Tank (CWST) inspections
- Hot Water Storage Vessel (HWSV) checks
- Showerhead cleaning and disinfection
- Water sampling and basic analysis
- Cleaning and disinfection (C&D) of water systems
- Accurate completion of reports using electronic log systems
- Liaising professionally with clients on site
- Reporting into the Operations team
Requirements
Essential:
Proven experience as a Water Hygiene / Legionella Technician
Strong knowledge of:
ACoP L8
HSG274
Water hygiene compliance standards
Experience carrying out cleaning & disinfection works
Full UK driving licence
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Willingness to travel and stay away when required
Desirable:
TMV servicing experience
Broader knowledge of hot and cold water systems
Additional industry qualifications or training
