We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Essex for an experienced Housing Officer to join their Housing Management team on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with strong tenancy management experience to work within a busy and supportive local authority environment.

Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer:
  • Managing a patch of residential properties across the borough
  • Delivering effective general tenancy management services
  • Handling tenancy breaches including ASB, nuisance, and low-level enforcement
  • Conducting tenancy audits, property visits, and estate inspections
  • Supporting tenants to sustain tenancies and access relevant services
  • Managing rent arrears cases and liaising with internal departments
  • Responding to resident enquiries and resolving housing-related issues
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with housing policies
Requirements of a Housing Officer:
  • Previous experience working as a Housing Officer within a Local Authority or Social Housing setting
  • Strong knowledge of tenancy management and housing legislation
  • Experience managing ASB and tenancy-related casework
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
